Cleared For Liftoff: A New Generation of Women in Air and Space
Women Who Fly Exhibit
at the Women at Work Museum in Attleboro, MA.
For the second consecutive year the International Women's Air & Space Museum
(IWASM), in partnership with the ALCOA Foundation, continues their efforts to
reverse the under representation of women in science, mathematics, and
technology.  Academically capable adolescent girls must be exposed to women
who can reassure them that success in these fields is attainable.  On Tuesday,
November 1, 2005, the second conference, "Cleared for LIftoff: A New Generation
of Women in Air & Space" will be convened at the Forum, One Cleveland Center,
1375 East 9th St, Cleveland, OH.  The day will be designed to engage, enlighten
and inspire participants from the following districts:  Berea, Brooklyn, Cleveland,
Cleveland Heights-University Heights, Euclid, Fairview Park, Mentor, North
Olmsted, Olmsted Falls, Shaker Heights, Strongsville, Warrensville Heights,
Wickliffe and Willoughby-Eastlake. Because of my experience and successful
career, I have been invited  to assist in motivating 275 young women in grades
7-9.  My role as a career speaker require me to make a short presentation to
smaller groups of students.
Opening on October 30 2005, the exhibit “Women Who Fly” presents individuals
that have surpassed expectations and achieved their personal best. Featuring
women pilots and astronauts, the exhibit will celebrate the significant
contributions women have made and continue to make to the progress of
aviation and aerospace and give girls and boys the opportunity to explore aviation
and aerospace careers.
Mission: honor the achievements of women throughout history, provide
educational programs that promote leadership, economic independence, and
expertise in math, science, engineering and technology, and recognize the efforts
of individuals and organizations that support equity in education and in the
workplace.

Andrews AFB Airshow in Washington, DC
Thanks to the generosity and support of the Washington, DC, Chapter of Women
in Aviation, International, Girls With Wings will be at a booth at the Andrews AFB
Airshow this weekend. We plan to hand out our pink CDs for the first time to the
general public.
I'm happy to say the event was a resounding success. The attendees at the
Airshow were immediately drawn to the pink, so we got quite a bit of traffic at the
booth, and to the website afterwards. Thanks to the DC WAI Chapter.
